The difference between Decile and Septile

When used as nouns, decile means any of the values in a series that divides the distribution of individuals in that series into ten groups of equal frequency, whereas septile means any of the quantiles that divide an ordered sample population into seven equally numerous subsets.


Septile is also adjective with the meaning: relating to a septum.
