The difference between Octile and Septile

When used as nouns, octile means any of the quantiles that divide an ordered sample population into eight equally numerous subsets, whereas septile means any of the quantiles that divide an ordered sample population into seven equally numerous subsets.


Septile is also adjective with the meaning: relating to a septum.
