The difference between Septile and Tertile

When used as nouns, septile means any of the quantiles that divide an ordered sample population into seven equally numerous subsets, whereas tertile means either of the two points that divide an ordered distribution into three parts, each containing a third of the population.


Septile is also adjective with the meaning: relating to a septum.
