The difference between Percentile and Sextile

When used as nouns, percentile means any of the ninety-nine points that divide an ordered distribution into one hundred parts, each containing one per cent of the population, whereas sextile means the specific term used for a quantile of six equal proportions.


Sextile is also adjective with the meaning: of or denoting the aspect or position of any two celestial bodies separated by 60.
