The difference between Quartile and Sextile

When used as nouns, quartile means any of the three points that divide an ordered distribution into four parts, each containing a quarter of the population, whereas sextile means the specific term used for a quantile of six equal proportions.


Sextile is also adjective with the meaning: of or denoting the aspect or position of any two celestial bodies separated by 60.
