The difference between Hermaphroditic and Intersex

When used as adjectives, hermaphroditic means of or pertaining to hermaphrodism, whereas intersex means having characteristics of both male and female sexes.


Intersex is also noun with the meaning: any of a variety of conditions (in a dioecious species) whereby an individual has male and female sex characteristics.
