The difference between Boat and Tug

When used as nouns, boat means a craft used for transportation of goods, fishing, racing, recreational cruising, or military use on or in the water, propelled by oars or outboard motor or inboard motor or by wind, whereas tug means a sudden powerful pull.

When used as verbs, boat means to travel by boat, whereas tug means to pull or drag with great effort.
