The difference between Boat and Skiff

When used as nouns, boat means a craft used for transportation of goods, fishing, racing, recreational cruising, or military use on or in the water, propelled by oars or outboard motor or inboard motor or by wind, whereas skiff means a small flat-bottomed open boat with a pointed bow and square stern.

When used as verbs, boat means to travel by boat, whereas skiff means to navigate in a skiff.
