The difference between Debuff and Nerf

When used as nouns, debuff means an effect that makes a game character weaker, whereas nerf means the weakening or worsening of a character, a weapon, a spell, etc.

When used as verbs, debuff means to make a character or unit weaker, whereas nerf means to bump lightly, whether accidentally or purposefully.
