The difference between Buff and Nerf

When used as nouns, buff means undyed leather from the skin of buffalo or similar animals, whereas nerf means the weakening or worsening of a character, a weapon, a spell, etc.

When used as verbs, buff means to polish and make shiny by rubbing, whereas nerf means to bump lightly, whether accidentally or purposefully.


Buff is also adjective with the meaning: of the color of buff leather, a brownish yellow.
