The difference between Safe and Safety

When used as nouns, safe means a box, usually made of metal, in which valuables can be locked for safekeeping, whereas safety means the condition or feeling of being safe.

When used as verbs, safe means to make something safe, whereas safety means to secure (a mechanical component, as in aviation) to keep it from becoming detached even under vibration.


Safe is also adjective with the meaning: not in danger.
