The difference between Identical and Similar
When used as nouns, identical means something which has exactly the same properties as something else, whereas similar means that which is similar to, or resembles, something else, as in quality, form, etc.
When used as adjectives, identical means bearing full likeness by having precisely the same set of characteristics, whereas similar means having traits or characteristics in common.
