The difference between Similar and Twin

When used as nouns, similar means that which is similar to, or resembles, something else, as in quality, form, etc, whereas twin means either of two people (or, less commonly, animals) who shared the same uterus at the same time.

When used as adjectives, similar means having traits or characteristics in common, whereas twin means double.


Twin is also verb with the meaning: to separate, divide.
