The difference between Identical and Same
When used as adjectives, identical means bearing full likeness by having precisely the same set of characteristics, whereas same means not different or other.
Identical is also noun with the meaning: something which has exactly the same properties as something else.
Same is also pronoun with the meaning: the identical thing, ditto.
Same is also adverb with the meaning: together.
