The difference between Decimal and Hexadecimal
When used as nouns, decimal means a number expressed in the base-ten system, a fractional numeral written in this system, whereas hexadecimal means a number system with base 16, using the digits 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, a, b, c, d, e and f, useful in computing as a hexadecimal digit can represent four bits, half a standard byte.
When used as adjectives, decimal means concerning numbers expressed in decimal or mathematical calculations performed using decimal, whereas hexadecimal means of a number, expressed in hexadecimal.
Decimal is also verb with the meaning: to represent with numbers after a decimal point.
