The difference between Contradictory and Paradox
When used as nouns, contradictory means either of a pair of propositions, that cannot both be true or both be false, whereas paradox means an apparently self-contradictory statement, which can only be true if it is false, and vice versa.
Contradictory is also adjective with the meaning: that contradicts something, such as an argument.
