The difference between Adult and Child

When used as nouns, adult means a fully grown human or animal, whereas child means a person who has not yet reached adulthood, whether natural (puberty), cultural (initiation), or legal (majority).


Adult is also verb with the meaning: to (cause to) be or become an adult.

Adult is also adjective with the meaning: fully grown.
