The difference between Child and Parent
When used as nouns, child means a person who has not yet reached adulthood, whether natural (puberty), cultural (initiation), or legal (majority), whereas parent means one of the two persons from whom one is immediately biologically descended.
Parent is also verb with the meaning: to act as parent, to raise or rear.
