The difference between Adult and Grown up

When used as nouns, adult means a fully grown human or animal, whereas grown up means an adult. (used especially by children).

When used as adjectives, adult means fully grown, whereas grown up means of, pertaining to, or suitable for adults.


Adult is also verb with the meaning: to (cause to) be or become an adult.
