The difference between Nail and Toe

When used as nouns, nail means the thin, horny plate at the ends of fingers and toes on humans and some other animals, whereas toe means each of the five digits on the end of the foot.

When used as verbs, nail means to fix (an object) to another object using a nail, whereas toe means to furnish (a stocking, etc.) with a toe.
