The difference between Involved and Remote

When used as adjectives, involved means complicated, whereas remote means at a distance.


Remote is also verb with the meaning: to connect to a computer from a remote location.

  1. Involved as an adjective:

    Complicated.

    Examples:

    "He related an involved story about every ancestor since 1895."

  2. Involved as an adjective:

    Associated with others, be a participant or make someone be a participant (in a crime, process, etc.)

    Examples:

    "He was involved in the project for three years."

    "He got involved in a bar fight."

    "When the family wrapped up my father's will, no one tried to make me feel involved."

    Having an affair with someone.

    At a distance; disconnected.

    Examples:

    Examples:

    "After his fall from the emperor's favor, the general was posted to a remote outpost."

  3. Remote as an adjective (especially with respect to [[likelihood]]):

    Slight.

    Examples:

    "There was only a remote possibility that we would be rescued as we were far outside of the regular shipping lanes."

    Emotionally detached.
