The difference between Immerse and Swallow

When used as verbs, immerse means to put under the surface of a liquid, whereas swallow means to cause (food, drink etc.) to pass from the mouth into the stomach.


Immerse is also adjective with the meaning: immersed.

Swallow is also noun with the meaning: a deep chasm or abyss in the earth.
