The difference between Extreme and Too much

When used as nouns, extreme means the greatest or utmost point, degree or condition, whereas too much means a quantity which is excessive to the point of being inappropriate, harmful, or overwhelming.

When used as adverbs, extreme means extremely, whereas too much means to a greater extent than is wanted or required.

When used as adjectives, extreme means of a place, the most remote, farthest or outermost, whereas too much means amusing.


Too much is also interjection with the meaning: an expression of satisfaction.

Too much is also determiner with the meaning: more (of something) than is desirable or required.
