The difference between Equal and Identical

When used as nouns, equal means a person or thing of equal status to others, whereas identical means something which has exactly the same properties as something else.

When used as adjectives, equal means the same in all respects, whereas identical means bearing full likeness by having precisely the same set of characteristics.


Equal is also verb with the meaning: to be equal to, to have the same value as.

    The same in all respects.

    Examples:
