The difference between Consummate and Sheer

When used as verbs, consummate means to bring (a task, project, goal etc.) to completion, whereas sheer means to swerve from a course.

When used as adjectives, consummate means complete in every detail, perfect, absolute, whereas sheer means very thin or transparent.
