The difference between Consummate and Finish

When used as verbs, consummate means to bring (a task, project, goal etc.) to completion, whereas finish means to complete (something).

Consummate is also adjective with the meaning: complete in every detail, perfect, absolute.

Finish is also noun with the meaning: an end.
