The difference between Accessory and Ally

When used as nouns, accessory means something that belongs to part of another main thing, whereas ally means one united to another by treaty or league.


Accessory is also adjective with the meaning: having a secondary, supplementary or subordinate function by accompanying as a subordinate.

Ally is also verb with the meaning: to unite, or form a connection between, as between families by marriage, or between princes and states by treaty, league, or confederacy.
