The difference between Respect and Revere

When used as nouns, respect means an attitude of consideration or high regard, whereas revere means a revers.

When used as verbs, respect means to have respect for, whereas revere means to regard someone or something with great awe or devotion.

Respect is also interjection with the meaning: hello, hi.
