The difference between Parent and Son

When used as nouns, parent means one of the two persons from whom one is immediately biologically descended, whereas son means one's male offspring.

When used as verbs, parent means to act as parent, to raise or rear, whereas son means to produce (i.e. bear, father, beget) a son.
