The difference between Foil and Sword

When used as nouns, foil means a very thin sheet of metal, whereas sword means a long-bladed weapon with a hilt, and usually a pommel and cross-guard, which is designed to stab, slash, and/or hack.


Foil is also verb with the meaning: to prevent (something) from being accomplished.
