The difference between Divide and Share

When used as nouns, divide means a thing that divides, whereas share means a portion of something, especially a portion given or allotted to someone.

When used as verbs, divide means to split or separate (something) into two or more parts, whereas share means to give part of what one has to somebody else to use or consume.
