The difference between Divide and Multiply

When used as nouns, divide means a thing that divides, whereas multiply means an act or instance of multiplying.

When used as verbs, divide means to split or separate (something) into two or more parts, whereas multiply means to increase the amount, degree or number of (something).


Multiply is also adverb with the meaning: in many or multiple ways.
