The difference between Disaccharide and Turanose

When used as nouns, disaccharide means any sugar, such as sucrose, maltose and lactose, consisting of two monosaccharides combined together, whereas turanose means a reducing disaccharide organic compound that can be used as a carbon source by bacteria and fungi.
