The difference between Difference and Remainder

When used as nouns, difference means the quality of being different, whereas remainder means a part or parts remaining after some has/have been removed.

When used as verbs, difference means to distinguish or differentiate, whereas remainder means to mark or declare items left unsold as subject to reduction in price.


Remainder is also adjective with the meaning: remaining.
