The difference between Leftover and Remainder

When used as nouns, leftover means something left behind, whereas remainder means a part or parts remaining after some has/have been removed.

When used as adjectives, leftover means remaining, whereas remainder means remaining.


Remainder is also verb with the meaning: to mark or declare items left unsold as subject to reduction in price.
