The difference between Deuterated water and Heavy water

When used as nouns, deuterated water means water in which one or both protium hydrogens is replaced by atoms of deuterium hydrogen by restriction, heavy water (d2o) by restriction, semi-heavy water, deuterium-protium water (2h1ho), whereas heavy water means water containing deuterium instead of normal hydrogen (symbol d2o).
