The difference between Brand and Good name
When used as nouns, brand means a conflagration, whereas good name means credit, honour, regard, reputation.
Brand is also verb with the meaning: to burn the flesh with a hot iron, either as a marker (for criminals, slaves etc.) or to cauterise a wound.
