The difference between Arithmetic mean and Average

When used as nouns, arithmetic mean means the measure of central tendency of a set of values computed by dividing the sum of the values by their number, whereas average means the arithmetic mean.

Average is also verb with the meaning: to compute the average of, especially the arithmetic mean.

Average is also adjective with the meaning: constituting or relating to the average.
