The difference between Add and Mention

When used as nouns, add means an act or instance of adding, whereas mention means a speaking or notice of anything, usually in a brief or cursory manner. used especially in the phrase make mention of.

When used as verbs, add means to join or unite (e.g. one thing to another, or as several particulars) so as to increase the number, augment the quantity or enlarge the magnitude, or so as to form into one aggregate, whereas mention means to make a short reference to something.
