The difference between Add and Annex

When used as nouns, add means an act or instance of adding, whereas annex means an addition, an extension.

When used as verbs, add means to join or unite (e.g. one thing to another, or as several particulars) so as to increase the number, augment the quantity or enlarge the magnitude, or so as to form into one aggregate, whereas annex means to add something to another thing, especially territory.
