The difference between Quick and Swift

When used as nouns, quick means raw or sensitive flesh, especially that underneath finger and toe nails, whereas swift means a small plain-colored bird of the family apodidae that resembles a swallow and is noted for its rapid flight.

When used as adverbs, quick means quickly, whereas swift means swiftly.

When used as adjectives, quick means moving with speed, rapidity or swiftness, or capable of doing so, whereas swift means fast.


Quick is also verb with the meaning: to amalgamate surfaces prior to gilding or silvering by dipping them into a solution of mercury in nitric acid.
