The difference between Lord and Sovereign

When used as nouns, lord means the master of the servants of a household, whereas sovereign means a monarch.

When used as verbs, lord means domineer or act like a lord, whereas sovereign means to rule over as a sovereign.


Sovereign is also adjective with the meaning: exercising power of rule.
