The difference between Lattice and Mesh

When used as nouns, lattice means a flat panel constructed with widely-spaced crossed thin strips of wood or other material, commonly used as a garden trellis, whereas mesh means a structure made of connected strands of metal, fiber, or other flexible/ductile material, with evenly spaced openings between them.

When used as verbs, lattice means to make a lattice of, whereas mesh means to connect together by interlocking, as gears do.
