The difference between Hinder and Posterior

When used as nouns, hinder means the buttocks, whereas posterior means the buttocks.

When used as adjectives, hinder means of or belonging to that part or end which is in the rear or hind, or which follows, whereas posterior means located behind, or towards the rear of an object.


Hinder is also verb with the meaning: to make difficult to accomplish.
