The difference between Hind and Hinder

When used as nouns, hind means a female deer, especially a red deer at least two years old, whereas hinder means the buttocks.

When used as adjectives, hind means located at the rear (most often said of animals' body parts), whereas hinder means of or belonging to that part or end which is in the rear or hind, or which follows.


Hinder is also verb with the meaning: to make difficult to accomplish.
