When used as nouns, everyday means the ordinary or routine day or occasion, whereas mundane means an unremarkable, ordinary human being.

When used as adjectives, everyday means appropriate for ordinary use, rather than for special occasions, whereas mundane means worldly, earthly, profane, vulgar as opposed to heavenly.
