The difference between Banal and Mundane

When used as adjectives, banal means common in a boring way, to the point of being predictable, whereas mundane means worldly, earthly, profane, vulgar as opposed to heavenly.


Mundane is also noun with the meaning: an unremarkable, ordinary human being.
