The difference between Eradicate and Uproot

When used as verbs, eradicate means to pull up by the roots, whereas uproot means to root up.

    To pull up by the roots; to uproot.

  2. Eradicate as a verb (transitive):

    To destroy completely; to reduce to nothing radically; to put an end to; to extirpate.

    Examples:

    To root up; to tear up by the roots, or as if by the roots; to extirpate.
