The difference between Dye and Streak

When used as nouns, dye means a colourant, especially one that has an affinity to the substrate to which it is applied, whereas streak means an irregular line left from smearing or motion.

When used as verbs, dye means to colour with dye, or as if with dye, whereas streak means to have or obtain streaks.
