The difference between Couch and Divan
When used as nouns, couch means an item of furniture, often upholstered, for the comfortable seating of more than one person, whereas divan means a couch- or sofa-like piece of furniture made of a mattress lying against the wall and either on the floor or an elevated structure.
Couch is also verb with the meaning: to lie down.
